Leaky Gut (Intestinal Permeability) Test by Post

"Find out if your intestines are 'leaking'"

If you are not absorbing nutrients efficiently you can become deficient in vital vitamins and minerals. All food you eat must be broken down by the digestive system, passed into the blood stream and dealt with successfully by your body's lymph system. If the food is not broken down properly, your body 'sees' this normal food as an antigen, a toxin, and sets up an immune system reaction to deal with it. At the same time this undigested food is sitting around fermenting and putrefying. Large spaces can develop between the cells in the gut wall and food molecules can then pass into the bloodstream. This is called leaky gut or intestinal permeability. So initially it is important to stop eating the offending foods which will help to alleviate the symptoms and make you feel better. Then the whole environment of the gut needs to be healed as well, in order to get the intestinal bacteria back in balance again so that you can stay healthy and prevent the symptoms recurring.

You may have a leaky gut if you have any of the following:

  • Food allergies
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Crohn's disease
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Coeliac disease
  • Skin problems

Leaky gut has only recently been widely recognised and this very effective non-invasive urine test, offered here, has now become available to assess intestinal permeability. Two urine samples are required for this test. The first one is a pre-test sample and the second one is taken six hours after you drink a special liquid which contains two marker molecules. When the samples are analysed the amount of the marker molecules detected by the laboratory will give a strong indication as to how permeable (i.e. how leaky) your gut is.

So if you want to know if you have a leaky gut and what to do about it if you have, then you should send for this Leaky Gut Test now.

Note

Samples should be returned to the laboratory by Next Day Delivery, Monday – Thursday only. Samples received outside of the suggested postage dates may be discarded and the patient asked to repeat the test.
