There are two groups of minerals - macrominerals and trace minerals. The macrominerals include calcium and magnesium and we need large amount of these substances. The trace minerals we need iin much smaller amounts and these include selenium, zinc, iron, chromium and manganese. Minerals are important as they help to build healthy teeth and bones, balance blood sugar, regulate blood clotting, formation of haemoglobin and much more.
